‘The Beach of Shanghai’ is the theme soundtrack of a 1980 Hong Kong TV series ‘The Bund.’ With the success of the series, its soundtrack also gained a wide reputation. The story described the striving of underworld during the chaotic era in early 20th century. The play not only demonstrated the gangster’s righteousness and patriotism, but also portrayed the bitterness of life. The version was adapted by Japanese composer Hideaki Miura.
