“You Are My Eyes” is a song published in 2002 by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Hsiao Huang-chi. As a blind, Hsiao Huang-chi paraphrased his soul mate as his eyes. The romance between lovers implies the desire to be able to see again. The authentic experience and the true feeling as a blind had triggered a huge reception among the public. The autobiographical song set the start point of Hsiao Huang-chi’s music career. The version is adapted by Japanese composer Kato Daiki into ensemble score consists of four parts flexible instrumentation plus piano and percussion.
The flexible version is suitable for small ensembles, brass quintets, woodwind quintets, saxophone ensembles, clarinet ensembles, string ensembles, mixed ensembles, and so on.
