Under the Silver Moonlight is a Chinese Tartars folk song. The melody originated from Russian folk song, which was gathered by famous Chinese musicologist Luobin Wang during the 1930’s. The piece with beautiful melody and music atmosphere had soon become a well-known folk song through out the world. The piece is adapted into many forms of performance. The concert band version is adapted by Japanese composer Shimoda Kazuki.
