‘Candy Candy’ is a Japanese animation series, originally run from 1975, later translated and broadcasted in Taiwanese TV channel in 1979. The story is about the life of an orphan Candy who spent her early life in an American orphanage, later studied in England. The Taiwanese version of the theme song was composed by Chou Chin-t’ien. The nursery rhymes style portrayed the innocent and outgoing nature of the main character. The childlike pleasure was demonstrated through the whole piece. The version was adapted to concert band by Japanese composer Hiko Hatano.
