In 1956, composer Yang Sanlang was commissioned by Southeast Film Company to work on the soundtrack of Taiwanese film. In order to meet the needs of the plot, he took out the song written for the company that year and handed it to lyricist Zhou Tianwang to reinterpret the words. The song was later used in the movie. Singer Li Qingfeng was invited to record as the vocalist. The song later became popular along with the box office hit of the movie and the lively lyric and melody of the song.
