“Bu Bu Gao” is composed by Guangdong composer Lu Wencheng. The music style is strongly related to Cantonese opera. The melody reveals the musical character of Gaohu and Yangqin. Through the joyful tunes and and the development of melody, it is reminiscent of various dialects. The rhyme in the music makes the music sound approachable. The version was adapted by Japanese composer Tohru Kanayama into the flexible band.
The flexible version is suitable for small ensembles, brass quintets, woodwind quintets, saxophone ensembles, clarinet ensembles, string ensembles, mixed ensembles, and so on.
