“LiuYang River” originally composed by Hunan musician Biguan Tang. The piece was an incidental music on a recital during the land reform movement in Lituo, Hunan. Due to its strong Hunan style and melody, it later received popular reception and was published independently. The lyric describes LiuYang River in Changsha City, and use the metaphor to praise the greatness of Mao Zedong, who was born in Hunan. The concert band version is adapted by Japanese composer Hideaki Miura. The wind instruments were used to portray the gentle melody style of Hunan, presenting a strong rustic atmosphere.
