「正月十五鬧元宵，太原城禮好熱鬧,這一邊燈耍龍擺尾，那一邊秧歌扭得好。」
《鬧元宵》這首樂曲主題旋律取材于山西民間音樂,具有濃郁的地方特色。旋律歡快活潑,節奏明快有力，展現了人們在元宵佳節時的喜悦心情和對節日活動的期待，將一幅充滿生活氣息的民俗畫卷徐徐展開。
管樂團编曲之中，以小號和長號的強烈重音開場,模擬出元宵之夜的罐鼓喧天，營造出熱鬧非凡的節日氛圍。中段使用長笛和次中音號演奏了民歌《繡荷包》的主題旋律。這段旋律優美抒情，與之前歡快的主題形成鮮明對比。如同一股清泉流淌在熱鬧的節日氛圍中，讓聽衆在狂歡的氛圍中感受到一絲溫情與思念，使音樂更具層次感和情感深度，也體現了傳統音樂文化中剛柔並濟的特點。

The lively and cheerful melody, combined with a bright and powerful rhythm, vividly expresses the joy and anticipation of people during the Lantern Festival, unfolding a vibrant folk painting filled with the essence of everyday life.
In the wind band arrangement, the piece opens with the bold accents of trumpets and trombones, imitating the resonant sounds of drums on a bustling festival night, creating an atmosphere of excitement and celebration. In the middle section, the flute and euphonium take on the melody of the folk song “Embroidering a Purse.” This section is beautifully lyrical, forming a stark contrast to the earlier exuberant theme. Like a gentle stream flowing through the festive scene, it brings a touch of warmth and nostalgia to the revelry, adding depth and layers to the music.
