” Blossoming for Rainwater ” is a melody originating from Yunnan, initially a love song with lyrics that metaphorically depict the deep affection between a man and a woman. The entire melody is distinctive in its modality. It begins with a bassoon solo introducing the theme, followed by a unison performance by the piccolo and clarinet two octaves apart, creating a transparent and ethereal sound that is highly unique. This is then handed over to the full ensemble for a multi-voiced performance, eventually returning to silence. The triplet figures symbolizing raindrops flow between the glockenspiel and various sections. The structure of the piece develops from ethereal sounds to layered textures, reaching a peak of density, and gradually fading back into quie. (Luo Fu Work)
