這首作品標題恰如其分地反映出詼諧的樂曲風格，以及幽默的歌詞內容；陝北民歌《夫妻逗趣》以夫妻間的互相調侃戲謔作為問答式的對句，丈夫分別以醜、亂、俗、髒四個面向嫌棄妻子，而妻子亦不遑多讓地機智應答，兩人唇槍舌劍好不愉快。樂曲分別以bE調高音單簧管與巴松管分別呈示主題，並經過一段由鋼琴所奏出的間奏後，以熱鬧的全團齊奏結束短小而詼諧的樂曲。（羅夫著）

The title of this piece aptly reflects the humorous musical style and the witty lyrics. The Shaanxi folk song “The Amusing Couple” features a question-and-answer format in which a husband and wife tease each other. The husband criticizes his wife from four angles—ugliness, disorderliness, vulgarity, and dirtiness—while the wife cleverly retorts, resulting in an entertaining verbal duel. The piece is introduced by the E-flat clarinet and the bassoon, followed by an interlude played by the piano, and concludes with a lively tutti, making it a short yet humorous composition.(Luo Fu Work)
