狩獵是原住民藉以生存的最原始方法，狩獵者込須具備高超的智慧與環境適應能力，因此在很多族群裡，獵人的地位是至為尊貴的。作曲家參考了不少原住民的狩獵歌曲，並把原來較簡單的旋律加以裝飾、重組與拼貼，變得更適合管樂器演奏，在《狩獵祭》這部約9分鐘的管樂團合奏曲中，作曲家企圖表達狩獵者在狩獵的過程中，體驗到人類能力的有限與生命的可貴。全曲分為快慢快三個段落，在中段慢板裡強調獨奏樂器音色。為了讓學生容易上手，採用典型美式管樂合奏曲的風格創作，難度屬中等程度。

Hunting is the most primitive way for Aboriginal people to survive. Hunters must possess superb wisdom and environmental adaptability. Therefore, in many ethnic groups, the status of hunters is extremely honorable. The composer referred to a number of Aboriginal hunting songs, and decorated the original simple melody, reorganized and collaged, and became more suitable for wind instruments. In the 9-minute Wind Ensemble of the Hunting Festival, the composer attempted to express the hunter’s limited ability to live and the value of life in the process of hunting. The whole song is divided into three sections, fast and slow, and emphasizes the solo instrument sound in the middle section. In order to make it easy for students to use, the style of a typical American style ensemble is created with a moderate degree of difficulty.
