費倫茨·法卡斯（Ferenc Farkas，1905-2000）是匈牙利 20 世紀最重要的作曲家之一。 1922年至1927年，他在布達佩斯音樂學院跟隨Leó Weiner 和Albert Siklós 學習，然後在羅馬聖塞西莉亞學院跟隨Ottorino Respighi 繼續學習。從 1935 年起，他在布達佩斯高等音樂學校任教，然後在科洛茲瓦爾音樂學院任教，後來又在塞克希白堡音樂學院任教（他也是後兩所音樂學院的院長）。 1949年，他被任命為布達佩斯音樂學院教師，後來擔任作曲系主任。他的 700 多部作品幾乎涵蓋了所有音樂流派。他作為作曲家的精湛技術和對風格的了解為他贏得了國際認可。

Ferenc Farkas (1905-2000) was one of Hungary’s most important 20th-century composers. He studied with Leó Weiner and Albert Siklós at the Academy of Music in Budapest from 1922 to 1927, then continued his studies in Rome at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia with Ottorino Respighi. From 1935 he taught at the Higher Music School in Budapest, then at the Conservatory in Kolozsvár, and later at the Székesfehérvár Conservatory (he was also director of the latter two). In 1949 he was appointed teacher and later head of the department of composition at the Academy of Music Budapest. His oeuvre of more than 700 works comprises almost every musical genre. His technical virtuosity as a composer and his knowledge of style won him international recognition.
