此曲描述傳說故事「盤古開天」：誕生在世界混屯之初的巨人盤古，用盡生命後創造豐富而美麗的新世界。
樂曲開頭以磅礡的聲勢、嘹亮的號角聲揭開序幕，悠揚的短笛訴說故事般幽幽道出了世界的虛無與盤古的孤獨。隨著悠揚的旋律堆疊，彷彿拉開了天與地的界線，豎笛與法國號圓融的音色，沉穩如盤古的艱辛與毅力，獨自戰鬥著，持續不斷的前行。在樂曲的結尾再次出現首段主題，銅管抖擻的吹奏聲如歌頌英雄般，最終耗盡生命的盤古將自己的嘆息與軀體融入、創造了世界。The piece described an ancient Chinese legend ‘Pangu Separates the Sky from the Earth’: The titanic god ‘Pangu,’ who was born when the world is still in chaos, had dedicated his life to creating a flourish and dazzling new world. The introduction begins with magnificent, resonant horn acoustic. Whimpering piccolo tells the emptiness of the world and solitude of Pangu. As the melodies accumulate, a boundary between sky and earth gradually emerged. The sound of clarinets and horns were as steady as Pangu’s determination, struggling and fighting alone. The principle theme appears at the end of music again, with the heroic hymn played by the brass. Pangu eventually exhausted his own life, burying his own sigh and body into the new world.
