“Flower Basket Weaving” is originally composed by Henan Opera musician FuShan Guo, which was based on local children nursery rhymes. The name of the composer was once anonymous until the composer claims the right to the piece. The lyric describe the joyful scenery of children weaving flower basket and gather more flower in the mountain. The flying tempo music atmosphere is accompanied with the lively Henan dialect accent. The flexible band version is adapted by Japanese composer Louis Kihara. With a light orchestration, the speedy original music spirit is demonstrated.
The flexible version is suitable for small ensembles, brass quintets, woodwind quintets, saxophone ensembles, clarinet ensembles, string ensembles, mixed ensembles, and so on.
